About the DBS Internship Program

The DBS team oversees the implementation of UNESCO’s digital strategy through three key focus areas:

  1. Project and Knowledge Management: Ensuring seamless integration and codification of projects to support program infrastructure delivery.

  2. IT Infrastructure and Service Management: Delivering resilient IT systems and top-tier service management to enable effective program execution and robust cybersecurity.

Interns will contribute to various domains within DBS, including operations, helpdesk support, network management, server and cloud services, cybersecurity, compliance, artificial intelligence (AI), development, architecture, and engineering.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the UNESCO DBS Internship, applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

Age

  • Applicants must be at least 20 years old at the time of application.

Academic Qualifications

  • Current Enrollment: Applicants must be enrolled in a graduate program, such as a master’s degree, PhD, or equivalent (second university degree or higher).

  • Recent Graduates: Applicants who have recently graduated with a master’s degree or PhD within the last 12 months are also eligible.

  • Specialized Technical/Professional Studies: Applicants pursuing secretarial or technical/professional studies must be in the final year of their program or have graduated within the last 12 months.

  • Undergraduate Degree Holders: Candidates who have completed a full-time bachelor’s degree but are not enrolled in a graduate program are not eligible.

Language Proficiency

  • Applicants must demonstrate excellent command, both written and spoken, of English or French.

  • A working knowledge of the second language (English or French) is considered an asset and may be required for certain roles at the headquarters.

Computer Skills

  • Applicants should have advanced knowledge of computer systems and office-related software.

  • Leave: Interns are entitled to 2.5 days of leave per month during their internship.
