Main Objectives of the Fellowship

Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the British Academy International Fellowship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
PhD Qualification: Applicants must hold a PhD or be in the final stages of their PhD. The PhD must be completed (including the viva) before the start date of the fellowship. Confirmation of the PhD award is required before any fellowship award is confirmed.
Postdoctoral Experience: Applicants should have no more than seven years of active, full-time postdoctoral experience at the time of application. This excludes career breaks but includes teaching experience and/or time spent in industry.
Non-UK Applicants: Applicants must be working outside the UK and must not hold UK citizenship.
English Proficiency: Applicants must be competent in oral and written English.
Research Proposal: Applicants must have a clearly defined and mutually beneficial research proposal agreed upon with a UK host researcher.
