The Open Capital Impact SME Development Program 2024 has partnered with Oxfam to support Impact-driven Kenyan SMEs through the Oxfam impact SMEs ( ISME) development program.






The initiative aims at offering subsidized support to impact driven SMEs, unlocking their potentials and growth and capital to create great social and environmental impact.




Benefits of the program are as follow:

  •  Access to supports targeted to your business needs example sales, marketing strategy, investment readiness , operational improvements etc.

  •  Access to tools to measure impact
  • Access to an in - person group training which is structured around several key themes to develop your business further eg. Marketing, fund raising, financial processes, talent etc. and help in supporting and scaling impact such as business sustainable value chains, business models, decent work and gender.




Eligibility Considerations:

For your business to be considered eligible for the program, these are some of the things to look out for:




  •  Location 
  •  Team
  •  Stage of growth
  •  Number of years of operation
  •  Impact
  •  Need for tailored support.




Location:
Located and registered in konga - For profit SMEs.




Team:
Must have at least more than 2 employees.




Stage of growth:
Post - revenue and have found products - market fit (idea stage businesses are not suitable).




Number of years of operation:
This has to be at least 2 years of operation



Impact:
Business or enterprise that demonstrated at least one of the following across its supply chains:




  • Human right protections
  • Sustainability
  • Gender
  • Community inclusion
  • Environmental conservation
  • Livelihoods
  • Circular economy and climate resilience.



  • Need for tailored support:
Stands the chance to benefit from business support to prepare, plan for growth and secure investment.

A horrifying incident unfolded at Nwanwu Junction, Igbeagu, along the Enugu–Abakaliki–Ogoja highway in Ebonyi State when a concrete mixer truck lost control and rammed into a local drinking joint and nearby food vendor stalls.
