In order to utilize Technology in addressing critical infrastructural challenge in the Country, the Digital Nigeria Innovation Challenge opened this initiative to empower the citizenry.





The participants at the end are expected to create innovative digital maps of one state in Nigeria while collaboration in teams .

The Innovation or solution is to clearly highlight critical infrastructures such as roads, schools, hospitals, and utilities.

These maps will provide more insight that could assist in driving sustainable development across the country.





Objectives of the challenge:
The project is focused on generating a clear data-driven digital maps for Nigeria, across all the 36 states of the federation including the federal capital territory(FCT) Abuja.






This is focused and geared towards the critical infrastructures, in order to help in decision making processes and more developmental initiatives.


Participants expectations:
The participants are to:


* Identify critical infrastructure (from selected Innovation Challenge focused areas) in their State

* Create detailed interactive digital maps using map and visualization tools

* Bring in details their findings needs and opportunities in their States in a compelling manner

* Submission of their final project as a universal resource locator ( URL) to a digital map.





Each Team:
Each Team is expected to select from the focused areas for mapping at least one (1) key areas such as the following:



* Health Care
Hospitals, health centers, clinics

* Public Services
Post offices, police stations, government offices, fire stations

Utilities
Water supply, waste management, electricity

Education
Schools, colleges, universities

Transportation
Public transits, roads, bridges


Note:
Each team is to develop a detailed and clear digital maps that can be used by the government agencies, startups, international organizations etc.






Team Formation
2-5 members not exceeding five members.
Teams are advised to include technical and domain expertise.




Submission
Final submission should be URL to an interactive digital map, using tools like Google maps API amongst others.


Note:
The map should have easy to navigate user interface (UI).
